phone fruit bowl.

apple’s iphone, or RIM’s blackberry? see those fruits!? i’m poor, so i don’t really know if this post is something i should even refer to. but the summer is here, people are getting paid, and money is burning holes in those pockets. so you might as well step the cellular game up.

the coolest thing to have is a fly phone. it’s 2008. if you don’t have a mobile device that does something major, you’re minor. the US market has basically narrowed it down to either a blackberry or an iphone. each of these companies have crucial joints dropping soon; apple and their faster, more powerful, and sleeker 3G iphone, and RIM’s vibrant and competitive blackberry bold. honestly, it’s about preference. i’m a die hard blackberry fan, and i can never do a touch screen. an iphone isn’t really even an option for me. but for everyone else out there, the iphone blog did an in-depth breakdown between the two titans. i figured i’d throw this up so people can make their decision a little more easily. clearly the comparison is a bit biased, but i think that the dude keeps it 100 with us for the most part.

and huge shout out to my man stan, who keeps me up to date on my phone $#!t.

haha clearly the iphone is on pointthat other service, the mobileMe just makes apple even more of a goon and not a goblin lolbut seriously, who has ever heard of the phone itself being the antenna
    More wireless. Less space.
iPhone 3G delivers UMTS, HSDPA, GSM, Wi-Fi, EDGE, GPS, and Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR in one compact device — using only two antennas. Clever iPhone engineering integrates those antennas into a few unexpected places: the metal ring around the camera, the audio jack, the metal screen bezel, and the iPhone circuitry itself. And intelligent iPhone power management technology gives you up to 5 hours of talk time over 3G networks.2 That’s some of the best in the business.

Blackberry all the way. Keep an close eye out for the marketing techniques Steve Jobs uses to try and make the Iphone mainstream…

Funny. I was just thinking about this crucial decision yesterday.  I’ve always wanted a Blackberry but I am an Apple-die-hard-fan-stan-contemplating standing outside of Apple stores just to be first-blah blah customer.  The Bold looks dope though.  If I was ballllllin’, I’d get both and use each every other day but I’m not.

    Blackberry bold…when/where!!

If i may give my opinion,As a current blackberry owner I can honestly say that I am huge fan of RIM.  Never had any problems with my phone (freezing, dropped calls, battery life, etc.). However I am one of those people that my man Modi mentioned who is sitting on some money in hopes of upgrading that joint.Initially after hearing about the Blackberry 9000 (BOLD), which was in early april, I was like F#%k it! That is where my tax rebate check is going. Then with the official release from RIM in May, I decided to down (forget sip) the kool aid and say it was time to get BOLD.  (Faster speeds, better integration, Iphone like resolution, new look, etc….can u blame me???)Then rumors started to pop up on the new 3g iphone and my faith in RIM was sorely tested (especially with the lack of new info). Some tech blogs were talking about it would have a both a front facing camera for video chat and back facing one to take regular photos. Others mentioned it would be way cheaper (hey got that one right…). Then with the drop earlier this week from Mr.JOBs…I hit rock bottom. For a second I jumped ship…the new features plus the ultra low price…made for a deadly combination.Yes blackberry users…I lost faith…However subsequent info has came out related to contracts and that’s when my faith was restored. With my expected departure out of the country in mid july…not likely to cop before then… i have officially righted my previous wrong. Anyway…Yada Yada Yada…def sticking to my guns (initially anyway)…BB BOLD ALL THE WAY

^^My only qualm with the Thunder is that it’s on Verizon. I’m with Verizon now and they STAY crippling (removing features, installing their bootleg user interface, disabling OBEX bluetooth (think sending ringtones to your phone via bluetooth)) all of their phones.  VZW has great reception but I pay for the phone— not your ugly 2d features.

As a longtime verizon user, i agree 149% with the above. So much so that i think im about to make the move to ATT. But then comes the original big decision…

look here for a glance at the other perspective:

… but I still want to know more about the Thunder LOL. When/Where…. If it will be crippled like every other major verizon phone… ETC.
