I’ve actually never gotten into The Boondocks but Family Guy makes me die with laughter. Never fails. Peterotica? STILL one of the greatest episodes of that show ever.
Family Guy!??! The absurd joke that family guy is a funny television show is almost as inferior an attempt at humor as that show’s jokes. It’s a bunch of arbitrarily placed, interchangeable, obscure pop-culture references thrown in without regard for any semblance of coherence. I can understand it being funny to someone baked out of their fucking skull or someone with a brain injury… maybe. It’s continued to underwhelm my low expectations as it’s increasingly become a caricature of itself.
Have you never seen South Park, Arrested Development, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Chapelle Show, even the stoner show aqua teen hunger force!?

Whoa come on now…Family Guy is great…everything about it is funny…people love the randomness of Family Guy, which is why when it got canceled there was an outcry…People wanted it right back…I find it funny and I don’t have a brain injury (not that I know of) and Modele doesn’t have a brain injury either…Funny thing is that he’s watched most of those shows you mentioned, he’s the reason why I started watching Curb Your Enthusiasm religiously…Come on man…I hope you’re a close friend just busting his balls like they would say on the Sopranos. “Modele, you’re better than this” Watch your tone.

family guy is my favorite show. chappelle was, but there are no new episodes. curb your enthusiasm is great. but i laugh harder watchinf family guy. i like to laugh. so, FG wins. plus, wonder years was the best show of all time, but it is like 12 years old. no new episodes there, either.
I’m gonna have to go with Ben on this one. Arrested Development & Frisky Dingo top my list. ATHF on certain -ahem- occasions.
come on man, Im smarter than everyone on this site (yes Mr BJWoodHUNT, even you) and i LOVE both of those shows. Ok so maybe im joking about the smarter thing (but not about the BJWoodHUNT). Im far from brain dead and I think that Boondocks is a very brilliant and challenging show. When a show can throw all of the negative sterotypes of our culture in our face and make us laugh at them while actually thinking about them and making some of us say, “damn, that IS ignorant, maybe we need to change how we think”, then i think it’s safe to say that mission is accomplished. Family Guy is hilarious and keeps it more consistent than BJWoodHunt’s constant overuse of large words just to try to impress the uneducated. Simple english will do just fine my friend. And with Family Guy and Boondocks, simple comedy will do just fine as well.

LOL nah. ben is smarter than you. trust me. i went to school with him since i was four years old, and we went to a damn good school. i don’t care your age. no shots fired, he’s just the smartest person i know. he knows family guy is great. but it’s not a GREAT show because it’s not as engaging as the other shows he named. those shows have well thought out plots, and are really clever.
but i already know what i watch TV for. i want to laugh. hard. and random cut away scenes are the key to that. that’s why i fuck with family guy. and sorry ben, i’m still saying, it’s the best show ALIVE! same withe boondocks! actually, not so much the ‘docks. it’s great though.

modi, i went to public school my whole life, barely graduated because i was too busy effing girls and getting one pregnant in high school, joined the military (8yrs), graduated with a Psych degree (barely again because i was busy doing the same thing…….minus the getting one pregnant thing………..oh nevermind, i did get one pregnant……again), and now im into real estate full time on my way to being what many may consider “well off”. i may not be the smartest person in the world (even though i think i am), but the point is that Family Guy and Boondocks are both amazing shows and your so called intelligent friend who tries to speak (and type) as if he’s Michael Eric Dyson didnt state one single argument as to why the shows were not good to him. He simply stated angry comments with no case and even went as far as insulting those who watch it.
Family Guy is a funny, whitty, comedy that is meant to simply make you laugh. It is better than all of those shows stated above, even funnier than Chappelle Show (people, let’s not act like EVERY skit was funny because some were flat out terrible). Boondocks is also funnier than all of those shows, minus Family Guy of course. Boondocks is a sneaky thought provoking show that is amazingly written while still being hilarious. I support both of my favorite shows and ,as ricky likes to say, will shit on ANYONE who speaks badly about them, ESPECIALLY when they dont state a valid case.

we already know that these shows are the best on TV, in our opinions. although the office, curb your enthusiasm, and maybe one or two others that i can’t think of right this second are AS GOOD. to me, anyway. nuff said.

Oooh that’s BLASPHEMY!!! Martin was the shit!!! But it did get pretty bad towards the end. Fresh Prince was classic. I can watch those reruns till this day.
Oh and the office is amazing as well. Great shows. American Dad was funny as hell too but i think it was cancelled. Hopefully they’ll bring it back. Same writers as Family Guy.
