why isn’t drake super famous by now?

drake is amazing. the memphis / toronto phenom started his career as an actor on degrassi, and later switched it over to rap. most people you clown when they try that move, but trust me. he’s a beast. i can’t take when great artists get overlooked. too many lames take shine away from artists like drake, so it’s my duty as a internet goon (wzup, ricky) to put on my fellow dukes. i’m not the only person who thinks he’s hot, either. he’s already done tracks with the clipse, mickey factz, lil wayne, travie from gym class heroes, and many others. check him out below.

i figured i’d put together a little drake compilation with my favorite joints from him. there are gems in here, trust me! oh, and me and my man produced one of his tracks on the “room for improvement” mixtape, too. ‘04 or something like that! believe that! if you like the sampler, i suggest getting your hands on the two mixtapes he has out now, because it only gets better. and if you want to know what he’s about, my people over at PFOP interviewed the young man.

DCtoBC.com Presents…The Drake Sampler

supreeme is the best hip-hop group out right now.

my girl alex lux put me on last year, but these dudes have been working HARD together for like half a decade! how come nobody put me on earlier!? and how come nobody the blogosphere hasn’t hyped these dudes like they hype all those slum rappers from the NY? come on eskay, come on dopeboyz, come on every other huge music blog out there! nobody has a flow similar to them, in the world.

UPDATE: shake over @ 2dopeboyz heard my outcry, and posted the new compilation by supreeme. he disagreed with them being the best thing out the A since 3 stacks & sir lucious left foot, but that’s fair enough. we can agree to disagree. at least i caused enough controversy for these dudes to be heard. good looks, shake!

i’m going out on a limb and saying these dudes are the best thing out of the A since outkast. i even bought their supremacy album on itunes. i figure with two statements as powerful as that that, you’re pretty much forced to DL the compilation album, and bump it in the whip until you understand why i said what i said.

no background stories on these cats or anything. i don’t really know much besides they’re composed of two black dudes, one white guy who was born in england and has an accent that you can pick up every time he spits. i think. i could be wrong. the one thing i am certain of is their skill. if they don’t get respect in the ‘08, then someone make me an A&R. i’ll throw them in the mix.

karmaloop TV interviews shwayze.

blind i for the kids!

the best music blog of all time is back on the map. literally. my man sulaiman got his $#!t together and finally re-launched the place where i used to get all my crucial music back in the day.

BLIND I IS FOR THE KIDS!

to commemorate this grand re-opening, i’m throwing up his newest mixtape, dirty money, filthy dollars. nobody makes mixtapes as eclectic and as complete as blind i. at all. everybody from wu tang affiliates to MGMT! that’s rap to rock, essentially. and he still has me bumping his backstroke mixes for my night time maneuvers back at school. yes, i just said that.

click album art to DL. tracklisting after the jump. and look out for a new super mixtape from DCtoBC.com, coming soon.

turbo - electro rock v3 preview.

you know how there’s a few big names out there that you think you’d be best friends with if you actually knew them? well, turbo is that guy to me.

one of my favorite budding artists out. completely different from ANYTHING YOU’VE EVER HEARD! i promise you. here’s what had capcom, the creators of the world famous street fighter video game franchise, to book him for shows at video game conferences across the country:

yerp. made a damn song about balrog. even the newspapers & lupe know about him, man. check the rest of them here. “vega cut” is my JAM. he was also our second interview on DCtoBC.com radio about a year ago. i know we recorded that show, so anybody who has it, throw it my way ASAP!

anyway, the louisiana-born, cali-bred embraced the fact that 8.8.08 will only come once. why not release the latest in his newest electro rock mixtapes on this blessed day? he sent me disc one of the three disc, super mixtape, and i don’t want to leak the entire thing. let me throw you a couple joints.

i’m hyping the mixtape all month, as each disc drops in 8 day increments (the 8th, the 16th, the 24th). talk about a marketing campaign. t-double, i see you out there. look out for more turbo literally all month. because i’m that serious. hit him on that youtube page to get the old mixtapes, too. all fire.

feel free to snatch the joints and post them everywhere. because if you don’t, somebody else will beat you to it. and you won’t be able to say you just put a rack of people on.

KiD CuDi - A Kid Named Cudi [mixtape] [re-up w/ working link]!

ges from knowxone is my personal hero when it comes to exclusivity. i don’t know what it is about hawaii, but they get things done efficiently. maybe it’s that maui wowie.

enough weak willy jokes. he threw me the mixtape of cleveland born and bred kid cudi @ 4 am. it’s 4:53, and i’m officially stamping it as bonkers. he’s just carved out a new niche in the music game. the mixtape cover is vicious, might i add. somebody find me that man’s barber, immediately.

i’ll give you a little sample.

cleveland is the reason:

i know i posted this, but more people need it in their lives. so it’s up again. two new tracks from wale ovechkin. climbing up the favorite rapper list rapidly. on that first joint, young chris sounds like a young hov, and i’m not mad at that.
