daedelus - my beau.

re-up because i’ve been getting a lot of e-mails about the fact that the DL link in this post is down. i don’t really care what genre of music you like. this song should appease you.

among the best songs i’ve heard all year. this guy, who could easily be mistaken for an extra in oliver twist, is actually one of the more creative electro / dance producers i’ve come across. his ear is phenomenal, as you’re about to see. PFOP put me on a few days ago, and i’ve never been so grateful.

wow. his new album, love to make music to, dropped not too long ago. i bought it on iTunes, that’s how much i support his music. hit his myspace and get familiar real quick. shout out to the dudes over @ blind i for being up on him, too.

oh, and there will definitely be a couple of people who DL the first track, and not the second. i guarantee by the end of the day, you’ll be back here DL’ing the second track, too. watch.

what’s the first album you ever purchased?

really though. i want to know the first joint you scooped from your local sam goody, tower records and every other record spot you used to frequent that bloggers like me put out of business. i miss those days when albums used to matter.

mine? DMX’s “it’s dark and hell is hot.” and then mariah carey’s “butterfly.” never mind. it was mickey unrapped. i forgot about that one. oh boy.

don’t act like it didn’t have thumpers on it! literally. i’m talking thumpers like the rabbit from bambi. but for real though, some people still get my money, you just gotta go above and beyond for me to shell it out.

i want to know what you were jamming way back when. go check out the stacks of CD cases behind your bed or on your desk, you know it’s somewhere in there. let me know what you’re working with…everything from first purchases to honorable mentions to “wtf was i doing buying this joint!?” like my mickey unrapped. here’s a preview though. it really did knock.

back when albums used to matter.

jay smooth, the guy who runs illdoctrine.com, arguably the greatest hip hop blog of all time, is a genius. don’t be surprised by his demeanor or anything. trust me, he always knows what he’s talking about.

in this current TV special (sidenote: i used to work for current. they broke me off a serious check, too. so i’m a fan for life), he breaks down the good ol’ days that i never really enjoyed because i’ve been downloading music since the minidisc player was the most exclusive gadget on the market. yeah, that’s throwback. i’m a 90’s baby. so sue me. anyway, listen to the man preach the good word! what a hip hop philosopher.

gucci mane feat. dj drama - the movie [mixtape].

OH BOY!

damn, man. i actually need to clown gucci mane (gov’t name: radric davis) because at the end of the clip, he attempts to pull a "hip hop made me do it" excuse. lame.

i know what you’re thinking. no more zaythoven-produced trunk thumpers. but my man theo hooked me up with the latest mixtape w/ dj drama that dropped a few hours ago! goodness. gucci fans, rejoice. and those who aren’t yet, we’ll convert you.

young jeezy - the vacation [video]

so far, this is the coolest song on “recession” for me.

might i add how i hate that every album that comes out these days leaks, song by song, for like a week and a half, and then the thing is out, and then that release day means nothing anymore!? i wish i could make the world watch that ill doctrine clip again.

chamillionaire is among the best & successful mainstream rappers today, without a doubt.

don’t even try and argue with that statement. you too, duke! ha. his marketing scheme has been ahead of the curve, even when he was selling records out of his trunk and through mom & pop stores all over the south.
