clipse - exclusive audio footage [unreleased].

see, the thing i’ve realized about the music industry is that there’s so many things that go on that the general public will never know. every once in a while, though, things come to the surface. like this, for example. the clipse’s debut album, exclusive audio footage, was supposed to drop in ‘96-’97 on elektra records. the joint was entirely produced by the neptunes. in fact, it was their first big project together, and started the relationship they now have today.

the only single they put out didn’t do the damage that the label expected, and consequently, elektra shelved the project. the track was called "the funeral," and i got the video for you:

so the album never saw daylight. clipse eventually left elektra, and then a few years later we saw them all over TV and radio with "grindin", but they were supposed to drop even earlier! isn’t that a pity?! i want to surprise you a little bit. remember jadakiss’ "knock yourself out", produced by the neptunes?

well, before jada jumped on it, it was a clipse beat. it’s essentially the same, except the clipse’s version is a little more gritty, probably because this album was never mixed and mastered like a final album normally would be. anyway, listen:

it’s called "hear me out" and i think it’s a classic clipse track. now listen to jada’s version:

which version goes harder!? also, is it a blessing or a curse that the clipse didn’t release this album? and which rapper in the duo is better!? lastly, is old clipse better than new clipse!? just some food for thought. feel free to discuss in the comments section. enjoy the album.

DL: clipse - exclusive audio footage

this is my own super edition version. i took out a few skits b/c they didn’t add anything. this joint has 18 tracks, and they are pretty vicious. i almost started listing my favorites, but it was over half the album. standout tracks: “feel like me,” “power,” “taiwan to texas,” “hostage,” and the list goes on. vintage neptunes beats. and if anybody notices any other tracks from this album that were used for other artists, please point them out for me! enjoy.

bonus: jadakiss - knock yourself out
another bonus: clipse - intro to their new mixtape “road to til the casket drops”

[video] trae feat. slim thug - nuthin’ to a boss.

i will always love h-town because their artists grind around the clock. that’s most likely the reason that ozone magazine chose to have its next award show out there.

probably the most slept on houston rapper, trae’s second album life goes on is filled with some of the most candid, honest rap songs i’ve ever heard. don’t mind that the man looks like a cross between tech n9ne and blade on all of his album covers. truth is, homeboy is depressed and has no qualms sharing that with the world. you already know whose on that chopped and screwed sample on the hook.

you need more trae in your life.

download: smile (feat. jadakiss & styles p). everybody’s verse is top notch, especially jada’s at the end. listen below.
